Senior Heavy Civil Project Manager

Location: Chicago

General Accountability and Summary 

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead and deliver high-impact projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and civil infrastructure, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, drive schedules, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You’ll play a key role in shaping essential public and private infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead end-to-end management of infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, drainage systems, utility networks, site development).
  • Develop project plans, milestones, budgets, and risk registers.
  • Oversee procurement, contract negotiations, and vendor management.
  • Manage on-site execution, ensuring safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, surveyors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor and control project scope, time, cost, and quality.
  • Provide regular project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resolve issues and conflicts efficiently to avoid project delays.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of project management experience in infrastructure or heavy civil construction.
  • PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety, local building codes, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in public infrastructure, utility coordination, or design-build projects.
  • Familiarity with GIS or CAD software.
  • Budget and financial management experience on multi-million-dollar projects.
