Collaborates with the design and assembly team, project management, and customers to develop, test, and implement system solutions—including prototype equipment—that meet customer process requirements. Has direct responsibility for mechanical and electro-mechanical systems, with input and support from mechanical and electrical assembly teams and controls/software engineering.
Provides input to and reviews design requirements, specifications, design documentation, and drawings.
Learns the customer’s process and becomes the local subject matter expert to support system design, integration, and verification.
Participates in risk mitigation activities by preparing conceptual technical risk assessments, working with engineering teams and external vendors during the design phase, and performing proof-of-principle testing.
Participates in design reviews with customers, vendors, and internal design groups.
Supports system and equipment integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
Accountable for verifying that systems and equipment meet defined design requirements.
Prepares or contributes to test plans for proof of concept, design verification, and acceptance testing.
Prepares or contributes to engineering documentation, including Safety Risk Assessments, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Installation and Commissioning Plans, and Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
Conducts testing activities (design verification, factory acceptance, site acceptance, etc.) to validate compliance with design requirements and prepares test reports.
Provides on-site support for tooling and equipment as required.
Provides technical support to worldwide operational divisions as required.
Maintains Nuclear Energy Worker status and performs work in environments with radiological hazards, including nuclear site locations.
Coordinates project activities with suppliers and conducts evaluations or acceptance testing of process-critical third-party equipment.
Assists with the development of system design concepts and labour hour estimates during proposal and quotation preparation.
Participates in department-level or organizational continuous improvement initiatives.
Provides engineering and assembly support, including support related to construction of CSA B51 and CSA N285.0 pressure boundary components under the organization’s Certificate of Authorization.
Strictly follows CSA N285/NQA quality requirements as defined in the Quality Assurance manual and procedures.

Experience in nuclear tooling or equipment development, testing, and field support is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of machine design and build practices, as well as structured problem-solving methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead or work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
