General Accountability and Summary 

This role will appeal to a collaborative individual eager to gain experience in the areas of project management and business in the mining sector, with possible opportunities for hands-on work at an active mine site.  Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Coordinator Intern  will be responsible for supporting various elements of TMG’s marketing and business development strategy including market research, summarizing National Instrument (NI) 43-101 reports, analyzing company financials in the mining sector, leading various automation projects to improve internal efficiency, developing and upkeeping the backend of Salesforce, and drafting documents and templates.  In addition to these responsibilities, students will be encouraged to grow in the sector through attending conferences and networking events, as well as industry presentations. The successful candidate may also be called upon to support various project and technical functions for our Client(s) at active mine sites, with potential for a site visit during the course of the position. Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain a database of prospective target projects and clients by reading and summarizing published National Instrument (NI) 43-101 Technical Reports. 
  • Support project managers with various external projects as per client needs.
  • Research prospective clients board of directors and senior leadership teams for potential networking opportunities. 
  • Document creation and formatting including proposals, reports, memorandums, minutes of meeting, standard forms & templates, risk registers, and technical content. 
  • Support the development of corporate white papers on a broad array of topics. 
  • Develop budgets for conferences and trade show participation. 
  • Lead various automation projects to improve the efficiency of internal tasks by programming in any language of your preference.
  • Project coordination duties in the areas of procurement and cost control. 
  • Support other mining research initiatives.
  • Additional duties as assigned. 

 

Skills & Competencies 

  • Strong document creation, preparation, editing and overall document management using the Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Experience programming in VBA is preferred but not required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently and proactively in a small team environment. 
  • A self-starter with good organization and time management skills. 

 

Experience, Qualifications & Education 

  • Preference for a third-year student studying mining engineering, or chemical engineering (mineral processing). 
  • Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite of Tools required.

  • External Relationships: Mining Companies, Contractors, Vendors. 
  • Salary: CAD $25.00/hr.
